Just finished the 2023 10K. Such a hard run with those hills, but thanks to the weather it kept things comfortable. Well managed and supported, with brilliant marshals and volunteers scattered around the course.
Thanks, and see you next year.
Thank for your kind comments Mark and we’re glad you enjoyed it.
Do you know when results will be published here, thanks
The results will be published later today.
We’re late to enter the fun run online. Are there many medals/goody bags left for those kids that do the fun run if we just turn up on Sunday?
L
There is a good chance that there will be enough goody bags but we can’t guarantee it.
Thank you Rod, that’s helpful. See you there!
Hi,
Is the event being run in 2023?
I only ask as it says 2022 in the article.
Keen to enter as we live nearby.
Thanks
Mark
Hi Mark – yes the event is on this year on 1st October. We were a bit behnd with the website but it’s updated now!
Hi, Can 10 year olds run in the 5k please?
Yes that’s fine Vic!
Hi. I completely forgot to enter my son for the 1 mile run and I see the deadline has passed. Is it too late or can we enter him on the day?
Apologies and many thanks
Emily
No problem Emily – you can enter him on the day. Registration is open from 8.30am and there is a £2.00 supplement for entering on the day.
Thanks! See you there
Hi there
Can’t see any times anywhere? Doing the 10k.
Thanks
Juliet
It’s all there on the ‘Race Information’ page Juliet
Hello,
I’m looking forward to the run on Sunday! Please can you advise whether there will be any parking arranged, or where the best place would be to park. Thank you!
Hi Sue, free parking is available on site in Carwinion playing field. However, vehicles cannot leave before 11.30.
Hi Rod,
I have checked everywhere I can look and have had my place confirmed but I don’t seem to be able to find the start time for the race. It is probably me but can you confirm please?
Hi Peter, Registration is open from 8.30 to 9.30 and the race starts at 10.00am (it’s on the Race Information page!). looking forward to seeing you there and good luck!
Rod
Hi Rod, Thank you. I will certainly need the good luck, it is definitely not easy for me anymore! How things change. Pete
After seeing the compostable cups at the race on Sunday can I ask where and how these were disposed of. We are looking for something similar for school events. Was a great idea!
Hi Natalie, they can be deposited at the Mabe recycling centre. The biggest problem was getting people to put only those cups in the dedicated collection bin!
Yes eod is possible at a £2 supplement but you may not get a goody bag or medal. Entries are open from 8.30 until 9.30 prompt
Hi do you have entry in the day for tomorrow’s 10k run please. If so what time should I turn up to register? Thanks
Hello,
I see that online entries are closed.
I’d like to take part this weekend, and in entering on the day and therefore still paying the fundraining entry fee, I’d still like to receive the memento/medal. Not massively keen if I’d go home empty handed.
I know that seems like a terrible ‘what’s in it for me’ attitude, but it is fun to look back on medals and events.
Could you give me any sort of guarantee?
Fingers crossed
Sally
Excellent, thank you for your email. You’ll have it late afternoon tomorrow 🙂
Hi!
I’m trying to enter the 10k but no joy not sure if it’s the site or my laptop and phone.
Many Thanks
Mandy
Hi Amanda, I’m sorry to hear that. What’s the nature of the problem?
Hi. I’ve missed the deadline – is there anyway I can enter my boys into the fun run late?
Hi Emily, entry on the day is available at an additional £2 per entry. Entries will close at 9.30am. Goody bags are not guaranteed for late entries.
Is it possible to enter on the day? What time does 20k race start?
10k race
There is eod Carl with a £2.00 surcharge. Just turn up between 8.30 and 9.30. There isn’t a 20k race, just 5k & 10k
I’m trying to enter my two children into the fun run and the website is trying to charge me £9 each. Am I doing something wrong here? I thought it was £4 for the fun run?
Hi Ellie, have you clicked the ‘Recalculate Fees’ button on the Entry Fees page?
Yes. I’ll try again.
what is the elevation of the 5k and 10k? are they ‘hilly’ or fast and flat?
They are both undulating with some long gradual hills. The 5k has about 200′ of total climb and the 10k has about 360′
Hi, I can’t get the link for the 2017 results to work. I would like to remind myself of my time last year so that I have something to aim for. Are the results available ?
Thanks
Hi Rob,
Sorry you had a problem with that. It should work ok now.
Yep, all working. Thanks
Hi Rod
I’m trying to enter the 10k race online, but no luck. Is there a problem with the site, or is it my operator error?
Hi Niall, apologies about that. There was a problem with the link but it should be ok now.
Hi Rod All now sorted. Many thanks. Niall
Hi is there no way that the race times can be altered? It seems a shame that they overlap. I would like my daughter to do the 1 mile fun run but I would have to accompany her but I would like to do the 10k myself.
Hi Kelsey, thanks for the equiry. Unfortunately that’s not practical – we have a road closure for a limited period of time and to do what you request would mean extending that to about an hour, which would be unacceptable. Is it not possible for her to run with someone else?
Hello,
Just wondering if you allow people to do the 5 or 10k with a pushchair. Are they pushchair friendly courses?
Hi Katie, you are welcome to take a pushchair on any of the courses – they are mostly on surfaced roads except for the Finish into the playing field. The 5k & the 10k both have short sections of bumpy pot-holed road. The only proviso regarding a pushchair is that you hold back clear of the other runners at the start please.
