Courses

Set in the pretty Cornish coastal village of Mawnan Smith, Mawnan Fun Run follows a road route which takes in the village landmarks as well as some of the river views of North Helford.

All courses start and finish in Carwinion Playing Field, following the road down into the village to the famous Red Lion Pub. The route then takes you along the pretty country roads to Trebah Gardens, where a complimentary drink station for competitors is provided. At the turning to Helford Passage all runners will then head back to the village, with the 5k runners returning to the playing field.  The 10k runners will continue north through the village, turning left through Boskensoe and Tregarne to Penwarne and returning down Penwarne Road to Carwinion Road and the finish in the playing field. Click here to download the 10k route.

The children’s fun run will take the children past the primary school, through wooded Carwinion Lane back to the playing field.

Marshalls will be stationed along the way to prevent runners heading in the wrong direction.

Refreshments – including a licensed bar, a barbecue and a cake stall – will be provided afterwards along with entertainment, a raffle, face painting and a bouncy castle so there is plenty to entertain the whole family – why not stay a while and enjoy the fun?

  1. Hi.
Can an adult jog along with a shy 5 year old in the 1 mile? She would love to run, but doesn’t yet have the confidence to go off on her own
    Thanks

    • Hi Taz – see the ‘Race Information’ tab. There’s no problem at all in her doing the fun run course provided that she is accompanied. It’s not necessary for you to enter in order to run with her – but you won’t get a medal or a goody bag if you don’t enter! 🙂
